BoS Guide to the Races
This guide contains all the race information we have painstakenly collected over the years and all over the globe.
Currently we have only reviewed a few of the circuits on the list. We are in the process of adding more race reviews. Some tracks we just have to go and visit first!
If you want to contribute (or just say thank you for the information) please go to the BoS message board as we are still in the process of developing an online submit form.
Please do NOT copy this information unto your site without prior permission and without credit to BoS!
Some good advice
• This should be in your bag when departing for a race: sun screen, umbrella, sunnies, rain coat, water, some (blister) band aids, Nurofen and earplugs. Not everybody agrees on the earplugs but if the drivers and riders wear them, maybe so should you.
• We normally don't plug products (unless they pay us loads) but this is genuinely good. When attending an F1 race, hire a Kangaroo TV. It is worth the money and will make your weekend a lot more enjoyable.
• Bring a camera, you may just manage to snap/tape that incident that the telly feed misses ;)
• As a general rule book your tickets/flight/accommodation early! Most tracks are in the middle of nowhere, assume you camp and consequently normal clean places with private toilets get booked out quickly. And even when a track is not in the middle of nowhere, the hotels closest to the track are often booked by teams and press. Which can be very useful too...
• The easiest way to purchase F1 and/or MotoGP tickets is online via the official F1 and MotoGP sites. The F1 site gives you e-ticket vouchers which are to be exchanged at the track. You are not allowed to pick your exact seat(s) and there is an (at times substantial) mark up. However you don't have wrestle yourself through a local language booking site, pay shipping fees and then spend ages worrying about tickets getting lost in the mail. The MotoGP site ships you your tickets by registered mail about 4 weeks before the event.
Local circuit sites usually have an English language page and generally do allow you to pick seats. Some tracks will give you e-tickets while others will ship your tickets a few weeks beforehand. See the individual track reviews for detailed purchase information.
